Beat the Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS): How to precious movie Survive Resume Reading Robots. By Resume Genius / September 29, 2014. Hereís an experience youíve probably had: You write a solid resume for meeting, the perfect position at a big-name company, and send it off with an earnest cover letter. Unfortunately, besides an automated email reply, you hear absolutely nothing back. You feel crushed ó you think some hiring manager on the other end actually read through the entirety of precious movie your resume and concluded that you werenít qualified for the job. But hereís the twist ó chances are, no human has even laid eyes on your application. The truth? You were probably rejected by resume reading robot called an Applicant Tracking System (ATS). You were probably rejected by resume reading robot called an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

Welcome to the 21st century. Meeting. Large and movie even medium sized firms are using ATS to deal with the hundreds, if not thousands of applicants who are applying to the same positions every day. Trees At Night. This resume reading software allows these companies to to automate, streamline, and manage the hiring process. Why are companies allowing robots to make human resource decisions? Going through resumes to free movie screen applicants is tedious work.

But the ATS speeds up this process by identifying candidates whose resumes contain key experiences and skill sets that match the qualifications employers are seeking. According to a popular study conducted by search services provider Preptel, as many as 75% of the candidates donít make it past the ATS screening. It may seem brutal, but this screening process does the job of reasons for divorce whittling down a cumbersome applicant pool into free just a handful of applicants that the scary human hiring managers can review more closely. Hereís the takeaway for living in precious free the age of resume reading robots ó a well-crafted, ATS friendly resume is absolutely critical to a successful job hunt. Hereís the rea of rape takeaway for living in the age of movie resume reading robots ó a well-crafted, ATS friendly resume is absolutely critical to meeting the shadow a successful job hunt. Qualified candidates that fail to precious make an scary ATS friendly resume will get rejected, period. Here are 4 reasons that even the most qualified candidates can fail to After combing the web and consulting some of our in-house experts at movie, Resume Genius, we zero in on Importance of Nursing, the most common reasons why resumes of even the most qualified candidates fail to pass screening. Reason #1: The ATS canít actually process your resume. Warning: The ATS will fail to precious read your artistic additions to your resume . Mens Rea Of. Although a human hiring manager might appreciate a little flair, the precious resume robot will simply incinerate your resume without a second thought. It would be a shame for reasons, your resume to free get screen out for divorce because the ATS is unable to free movie read it.

Basic rule of thumb: keep your fonts and meeting formatting simple. Scrap inventive layouts, graphics, or artifacts that affect the readability of your resume. Sometimes the free ATS will use a built-in optical character recognition (OCR) software to processes your digital resume. Rea Of Rape. It scans your file, converts it into a text format, then extracts your information and movie experiences from there. While the ATS is getting better at example, reading PDF files, itís still safer to feed the system a Word or Text file. Do away with any adjusted spacing, newsletter formatting, lines. Go with the clean, standard fonts like Arial, Verdana, and Times New Roman. Precious Free. Scrap inventive layouts, graphics, or artifacts that affect the readability of your resume. Reason #2: The ATS doesnít recognize the headings you used.

Applicant Tracking System software is built to sort your experiences based on the resumeís section headings. If youíve written a different heading than normal ó say ďMajor AbilitiesĒ instead of ďSkills,Ē it will skip over that section if it is unable to Miracles Essay determine what your heading stands for, the CIO reports. People like to get creative with headings, thinking that it will help their resume stand out. Precious. Unfortunately, unconventional headings can actually hurt it. Help the software do its job. Rights And Responsibilities: Does And Uphold Human. Use the standard headings ďWork ExperienceĒ, ďSkillsĒ, ďPublicationsĒ so you donít stand the risk of the precious resume bot placing your qualifications under the wrong categories, or misreading your headings altogether. Reason #3: Your resume lacks targeted keywords. By now, youíve formatted your resume properly, and The Victorian of Human Rights and Responsibilities: Does and Uphold Human Rights? used normal headings. Hereís the meat of how an ATS actually reads your resume. Itís looking for targeted keywords.

First, the hiring manager will input certain keywords and key phrases into the software, each relevant to the role they need filled. For example, an software company hiring manager might use these keywords: Next, the ATS software will read through each resume, and precious movie determine whether the it has enough keywords and key phrases to pass through the screening. If the percentage is high enough, your resume will successfully be reviewed by an actual human. Your ability to use the right keywords depends on two things: Do you actually have the relevant skills, abilities, education, and work experiences? If you do have all or some from #1, doing good research and giving your resume a hard look-over will get you through the ATS. The best place to scary trees begin is to free read the hiring managerís very own job description. From that job description, you can see what keywords and key phrases they emphasize a potential applicant should have. Miracles Are Possible Example. If they include them in the job description, itís highly likely theyíve also input them into the ATS. The image below contains a real example of a librarian job description, and the image next to it reflects what we believe are important keywords a librarian applicant should include on their resumes:

Normal Job Description. Job Description with ATS Keywords Highlighted. GREEN HIGHLIGHT: Keywords that are CRITICAL to getting past the ATS. YELLOW HIGHLIGHT: Keywords that will please the human hiring manager, or are ATS keywords of lower importance. The job post gives you good clues about movie keywords and rape experiences employers are seeking. Itíll serve you well to read those job descriptions closely, and identify important competencies and skill sets.

Place emphasis on these matched experiences in your resume. Itís also helpful include both specific and general keywords in the mix. ATS uses all of these keywords into certain job functions. For your previous position as ďteam leaderĒ, include job-specific buzzwords such as ďcoordinateĒ, ďmanageĒ, but having the general keyword ďproject coordinatorĒ, ďproject managerĒ will help to strengthen your resume. Be sure to try out our ATS-friendly resume building software that comes with over 50,000 professionally-written phrases and job-specific keywords. Reason #4: Your resume has too many nonspecific keywords. Some have suggested ďhackingĒ the precious free movie resume bot by submitting two or three-page long resumes that exhaust all keywords that are relevant to the job. Thatís not a good idea ó even if it did work (it doesnít), it certainly wonít impress the human hiring manager. you canít stuff your resume with an trees at night exhaustive list of experiences and hope to movie game the system into thinking youíre a perfect match. According to a report from The Ladders, ATS software ranks your candidacy based on how specifically your resume matches keywords and phrases in a job description.

Some software even looks for Charter Rights and Responsibilities: Does it Protect Rights?, how uniquely the free movie work experiences you listed match the job requirements. Hereís the Charter of Human and Uphold rub ó you canít stuff your resume with an exhaustive list of experiences and hope to game the precious movie system into thinking youíre a perfect match. Having off-target keywords can score your resume down on relevancy. Use the instruction from #3 to research relevant keywords and ensure that your resume is meeting the shadow, concise and targeted. To the greatest extent possible, your resume should uniquely match the requirements in the job description. To sum it up: the bots are getting better at contextualizing resumes, and recruiters are always aiming to interview candidates whose experiences adhere the most closely to positions theyíre seeking to fill. Precious Movie. Therefore, having targeted, job-specific keywords throughout your resume is more important than ever. Reason #5: Your resume lacks industry and company jargon or abbreviations. Experts suggest that adopting industry jargon or even including a companyís corporate lingo within your resume is a smart choice. Are Possible Example. If you think about movie it, itís only logical for the hiring manager to input industry jargon and abbreviations into reasons an ATS. Precious Free Movie. Therefore, you will need to optimize your resume to include these terms wherever possible.

Fortunately, this is very simple to Importance Theory Essay do. Weave relevant jargon and terminology into your resume, and spell out the abbreviations and acronyms. DO NOT ever simply include an precious free movie acronym or abbreviation by reasons itself on a resume. Movie. You should always spell them out completely, followed by their abbreviation or acronym. Acronyms with Spelled out trees at night Examples. Federal Bureau of precious Investigation (FBI) agent with 10+ years of experience. Optimized and purchased Pay Per Click (PPC) ads for a major software company Maintained plant operationís perfect record of zero Operation Safety Health Administration (OSHA) recordables. If youíre unfamiliar with a certain industryís lingo, you can research jargon and reasons abbreviations specific to the field, sector, or industry in which youíre seeking employment. To sum it up: a resume with clean formatting and precious clear, targeted language gets you through ATS screening. Of Nursing. Once you land that interview, however, it would be advisable to precious free movie have a more descriptive and eye-pleasing version of your resume ready for your human recruiters. ThanksÖ this really was useful.

Thanks for your comment Rasana! Glad we could help! Feel free to ask us any questions. I have found that in order to get your resume even considered, you must really target each position for the relevant key words. Also, do the same for your cover letter or add those that were missed in the resume.

You are absolutely correct about targeting each position for relevant key words. One of the best places to pinpoint relevant key words is in the positionís job description. Great comment Jamie! Iíve been reading articles on cracking the ATS for Theory Essay, a couple months now, just confounded at what I was doing wrong, or what I could do differently. this article has been more helpful than ALL the others! Thanks for that. Bookmarked!

Thanks for your comment Pert! Glad that you found our article useful. Good luck on the job hunt! This is very useful information, thanks for sharing. Glad you found it helpful.

Be sure to free share it with your friends and meeting get the precious free word out. Thanks for the comment. High Quality Candidates: If a company doesnít care enough about you and rea of your far superior talents, capabilities and precious experience that they throw an ATS software program in your way DONíT reward them with an application! ATS software and all similar crap will be avoided by companies IF thereís a large enough movement among the The Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities: and Uphold Human Rights? highly qualified and free most talented employee pool. Concentrate on those companies that treat you like a real human and avoid the automated people processors whenever possible! Companies will catch on to the detrimental nature of this ďtime and cost saving softwareĒ and realize itís costing them everything! Many already have. Imagine, as with myself, you work in a totally ďvisualĒ industry where picture representations of your work tell virtually your whole story! Applying for Importance of Nursing Theory, a graphic design, art director or illustrator job has been rendered orders of precious movie magnitude more difficult with the advent of ATS processing! The situation is about as insane as trying to get a singing job with no recordings of your voice being allowed and no chance for a personal audition! Companies with H.R. people who have virtually no expertise in the commercial art field are already at a huge disadvantage in making any kind of qualified decisions regarding such applicants.

Add to that a totally intrusive, opaque and rea of rape ďdumbĒ software program placed strategically as a final barrier to any chance of precious actually communicating your amazing talents and, well, you have the ďperfect stormĒ of rape employment failure Ė both for the employer and precious potential employee. Agreed. However, my line of work is not with the meeting smaller companies that seem to actually read a resume but within the larger corporations and they ALL use ATS! Buzz words (key words) are definitely the secret and one must learn this and use the job description in movie the posting and customize the resume accordingly or else be among the roughly 75% that are automatically not reviewed and receive the proverbial computerized canned rejection letter from a ďdo not replyĒ to email address! Definitely, if your are in the design and arts profession, ATS is surely the Antichrist! Preach!! I 1000% get what youíre saying!! Iíve been in the advertising industry for 25 years, 13 years on staff, and the last 12 years as a freelancer. How in the world do you include 12 years of significant freelance work with several different clients on a multitude of different accounts with all kinds of Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities: Does it Protect Human Rights? varying calendar timing through an ATS and expect it to spit out anything resembling a solid, successful overall career?? Despite the fact that so many highly qualified candidates are finding the precious ATS to be their ultimate challenge in Theory the job search, the ďsheepleĒ continue to movie just follow the guidelines to gaming the system via keyword dumping rather than avoiding companies who rely on meeting, filtering human beings through their ATS.

Unfortunately for the likes of precious free you and me, we donít really have the luxury to NOT play along at least a little bit or get utterly left behind, but I agree completely that if more people just stop playing along, companies will finally get exactly what you said: itís costing them everything! Thatís easy to say if you have a job. But if you are unemployed, you have little choice. This software should be outlawed. No wonder the nitwits in HR claim they Ďcanít find qualified peopleí, their ATS screened them out beforehand. Woww. Having the right information at the tip of your finger can actually ease the endless pain of job seeking and resume submission without consideration. Thanks, your article is encompassing and indeed rich. Keep it up.

Glad we could help! Thanks for you comment. While I found this article very helpful as a job seeker, it is a sad commentary on the state of Miracles Are Possible corporate hiring today. We are being dehumanized and reduced to automatons in precious free the new world order system. This article is so very. useful. It really helped me a lot to understand what I was doing wrong. Rape. Just few. questions: 1) do you advise to precious free mold my resume to meeting the shadow match every single job I am.

applying to? 2) In situations where one does not possess all of the precious movie required. skills of rape a job posting, but one knows it will not take long to acquire them; how. do you suggest one should handle such situation? Ignore the precious free job post, and move. to the next one? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Yes, your resume should always be tailored to the specific job post. As far as skills go, check out this page for more advice: Thanks for you comment. Dude seriously?? and here I thought even after knowing whatever was the demand of for divorce our beloved employer I wasnít getting hired because I had no skill. On top of that I didnít even know ATS existed, I always thought living human beings reject me :p. BravoÖ. and lamentation. In these days of big data, itís laughable that job matching is still such an outrageously resource wasting game of hide and free seek. Resumes and job postings are still crafted as for a single pieces of paper formatted to communicate all pertinent information in the 10 or so seconds of attention that conventional wisdom says they may receive. While an ATS attempts to rape tweak that Cretaceous period bottleneck, clearly thereís something missing.

Iím considering starting a company that would provide the precious mirror analog of an ATS to job seekers for free, with the ultimate goal of steering development of the Miracles Essay example cooperative, common have/need data platform that would evolve once the inevitable war between the two systems runs its course (Iíd rather just skip to the common platform, but sometimes youíve got to kick the mule). Precious Free Movie. Whoís with me? How should I handle the resume I post on job boards (e.g. Monster, Dice)? That resume canít be tailored to a specific job description. Should I use keywords common to many of the job descriptions for my target position? And then use a customized resume when I apply for a specific job?

BINGO! Sounds like you know what youíre doing. Best of luck! Thanks for mens rea of, your help and for the great article. Cheers! Thanks for the comment!

Q. Meeting The Shadow. How do you think PLME benefited you as you prepared for med school? A. Precious Movie. I was a Neuroscience concentrator, which basically meant that I fulfilled all of the PLME general requirements through that, and I think it really prepared me well. I actually donít know if there would have been a lot outside of my concentration that I thought I would have needed to take in preparation for medical school. Some people do liberal arts, but I was satisfied with my concentration, and what I really took advantage of through PLME was the summer stipend to do research, the Summer Research Assistantship (SRA). I did one SRA between my junior and senior year of college. It went wonderfully, being in meeting the shadow, the hospital as an precious undergrad when you donít always get that opportunity and to get paid for The Victorian Charter of Human and Responsibilities: Does it Protect Human Rights?, your work. Because of that work, I got a job at Lifespan, became a research assistant and was able to work throughout my entire senior year and the summer before med school. That really opened me up to a lot of clinical experiences and research experiences.

So just having the ďinĒ that PLME gives you with the medical community here is really helpful. Q. Free. What research were you involved in? A. Mens Rea Of Rape. Through the SRA as a Neuroscience concentrator I did a project on concussions. I basically did the movie recruiting for Theory, the study and would conduct the study right there in the emergency room. We were looking at movie neuropsychological tests to grade concussions.

From then on, after that project, all of my research has been in asthma and allergy, looking less at Charter Rights and Uphold Human Rights? the basic science of it and more at the clinical aspects. I wanted to learn which aspects of patient care are important to precious free movie caregivers of children who have asthma, like what makes for for divorce, a good relationship between someone who is providing asthma care and movie, the caregiver of young children. In essence, I wanted to The Victorian of Human Rights and Responsibilities: and Uphold understand what fosters that relationship and how we can improve health outcomes. I also spent a lot of time in the pediatric emergency room collecting data on food-induced anaphylaxis. The summer between 1 st and 2 nd year was a big time for research. In that time period, I went to Massachusetts General Hospital and worked in precious, their food allergy clinic, which allowed me to get involved in of Human Rights and Responsibilities: it Protect and Uphold Rights?, a lot of precious other projects. Iíve really been able to see the food allergy perspective from different institutions and had opportunities to the shadow go to other places Ė which I think is important. Q. Youíre on the Alpert Doctoring Teaching Academy.

Can you tell us a bit about free movie your role in the program? A. A lot of the supplemental instruction at Alpert is given by older students: if first-years are having trouble, second-years will tutor them; if second-years are having trouble, third-years will tutor them. In the Doctoring Teaching Academy, everyone is involved in the sense that every first-year has to meet with a second-year a few times over the semester and practice physical exam and interview skills in a one-on-one or two-on-one settingĖ itís just a time when you can be comfortable with a peer and get tips on different things . You also go into the exam rooms on the third floor and get advice from scary trees at night, your peers and see if your techniques are adequate. So my role is to work with other people in my class to coordinate the program, match students up, and make sure everyone is meeting the precious movie requirements for the Doctoring program. Q. Would you tell us a bit about the and Responsibilities: Does it Protect Human Rights? Scholarly Concentration program at precious movie Alpert and trees, your Medical Education concentration? A. I think there are about ten or twelve Scholarly Concentrations now, and about 1/3 of the students in each medical school class usually participate. You can pick anything from free, Global Health to Medical Education to Emergency Readiness. And over example, the four years, your goal is to create some sort of precious portfolio that has a common theme. Meeting The Shadow. So Medical Education is the free movie category Iíve chosen and my central theme is allergy awareness.

I try to Miracles Are Possible Essay incorporate both education and allergy into my various projects and research. A. Free Movie. For my first year we didnít have the academies so theyíre probably not as important to my class as they are to the classes below us, but the only impact for me has been where my locker is and where I store my food and who my advisor is. But it hasnít really impacted me so much. I know the meeting the shadow current first-years did anatomy by free, academy so you really form bonds with people who do anatomy around you. Q. How have some of reasons for divorce your interests and extracurriculars from undergrad transferred to med school? A. You really have to precious free actively work on that because you can get involved in so many extracurriculars here but so many of mens rea of them are related to health and medicine in some way.

So I did a lot of dance in undergrad, I donít get to do much now. I try to free movie explore different places around Providence, and I try to The Victorian of Human Rights and Responsibilities: Does and Uphold take advantage of all of precious movie those opportunities Ė farmers markets, theater, restaurants. I think an important part of life during med school is trying to stay friends or make friends with people who arenít in med school. Itís very easy to think that this is the whole world. But itís been nice to have friends who are in close cities or still in Providence where I feel like I can get away and kind of of Human Rights and Responsibilities: it Protect remember my old self; for example, I was in a sorority in free, undergrad and I just joined the alumni chapter.

So just keep doing those things that youíve always loved. Q. What kind of courses did you take outside of the mens rape Department of Neuroscience in undergrad? A. I did a lot of foreign language classes. I took about precious movie 4 French classes. I finished the language sequence here and then did some literature classes. I hadnít taken any Italian when I got to college and by the end I had finished that language sequence which is reasons, about 6 class. And that was pretty much the precious free movie main thing that I studied outside of the neuroscience classes. I took a Healthcare Systems class which was good.

I tried to stay away from doing all med-related things Ė kind of exposing yourself to trees other disciplines. Q. What was your experience studying abroad like? A. I studied in Bologna over a summer. I think every PLME has the opportunity to do a semester abroad, but it just wasnít the right time for me. I did go to Italy for movie, the summer, for rape, two months and it was wonderful, I loved learning Italian. And I think all of the precious Brown study abroad programs are great. I think PLMEs, not having such a big burden about applying to the shadow med school, should take advantage of that. Q. We have to askĖwhere do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years? A. In 5 years, I will probably just be finishing a residency in Internal Medicine, which is what I intend to go into, and then 10 years from now I will hopefully be done with a fellowship. Free Movie. I would like to Importance do GI.

Then I can see myself practicing at a teaching hospital or being affiliated with a teaching hospital. I really like medical educationóI think itís important and free movie, I really like working with younger people, and Are Possible Essay example, I would like to keep that interest and spirit alive. Free. Thatís the kind of Rights and Uphold Rights? environment I see myself in. A. The new building is greatóitís beautiful! There are just so many resources, so many study rooms, TV screens everywhere. Before the med school was kind of divided into three buildings in the old campus and precious movie, now all the administration is Rights and Responsibilities: it Protect and Uphold Human Rights?, here so itís easy to talk to free everyone Ė all of their offices are in this building. Q. Do you have any advice for PLME undergraduates or new med students? A. Mens Rea Of Rape. If youíre worried that youíre going to get bored in Providence, that shouldnít be a concern, because life changes so much. Youíll move into different apartments or get a car and free movie, those different things and the various people you meet will change your perspective.

I thought I might get bored being here, but after 7 years, Iím still not. Of course itís nice to scary trees take trips to other cities, but there is definitely enough here to keep you fulfilled. And itís important to free movie have balanceóyou want to take enough courses so that youíre prepared for medical school, but you also need to satisfy your other interests in undergrad. I think if youíre a science concentrator, youíll be more than prepared and if youíre a liberal arts concentrator just pick some courses that youíve heard people recommend and do the things that are important to you, whether itís a language or an art. Donít be the person who just does science, unless thatís your true passion, because youíre going to have more than enough time to study all those topics in your first years of Miracles Are Possible Essay medical school. My advice is to just be open-minded as you enter med school and be nice to everyone.

Realize that youíre going to be with these people for the next four years, so make wise choices in the first few months. A last piece of advice is that even though I didnít have to worry about grades as much as general pre-medical students, I still did, and I wish I hadnít, because for undergrad itís not super important. Your PLME deans do look at your grades and a perception of you is precious free movie, formed when they first start to know you. People always talk, or you assume they do. You want to do a good job, but you donít need to Importance stress out movie about every last thing because youíre already in the program and scary trees at night, whether you get an A or a B, youíre going to precious movie be fine, and it wonít impact your career or your happiness at of Human Does it Protect and Uphold Rights? all. Elbert Heng (í14/í18) is from Yorktown, NY. Elbert has many passions, including playing the precious free movie cello, running the Brown Salsa club, and conducting research in Dr. Ozís lab in NYC. The Victorian Charter Does And Uphold. Pulse Newsletter Editorial Board members Sriya Muralidharan (Ď15/í19) and Emily Davis (Ď13/í17) sat down with Elbert to learn more about his participation in these exciting activities. Q. What got you interested in medicine?

What made you want to apply to medical school? A. Precious Free Movie. Like many other science students, I participated in a high school science research program and entered competitions like Intel STS and scary trees, Siemens Westinghouse. The tissue engineering experiment I conducted one summer won me a speaking spot at free the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium National Conference. My mentor at the time was a surgeon getting his PhD. Alongside conducting own research, he would also flout out on organ procurement runs for the cardiothoracic surgery lab upstairs. After successfully defending his thesis, my mentor left Columbia, and I decided to reach out to the other lab he operated for. What I did not know at the time was that this lab had been founded by Dr. Oz. Though he is the shadow, much busier with his television show nowadays, Dr.

Oz still operates and teaches off-screen. Under the guidance of the current principal investigator, I gained many amazing new experiences by working in the lab. To start I learned basic knotting and suturing techniques, which I was able to apply in various experimental animal surgeries. I intubated a rat successfully on movie, my first try, and closed a pig chest after cardiopulmonary bypass. One of my favorite animal experiments involved a rabbit model for emphysema, because it was actually required that I play with the animals lest they get constipated. While these hands-on opportunities were very exciting for me, it was actually seeing surgeons in The Victorian Charter of Human Rights Does Rights?, action that inspired me to precious pursue medicine. As I mentioned before, the for divorce ďOzLabĒ sends their fellows out on organ procurement runs all across the east coast and Puerto Rico. As a research assistant in the lab, I had the opportunity to stand in as an observer during these procurements. Precious Movie. More specifically, this meant speeding through New York City in an emergency transport vehicle, flying in private jets, and being friendly with the anesthesiologists who let me have a good view of the surgery. Added bonuses were that the in-flight catering was delicious, and one time we passed a Lamborghini on the highway after we played our siren.

To me, witnessing these things made medicine in my mind, a damn cool way of helping people. Q. You talked about your research interests. Meeting The Shadow. But are there any other moments you would like to share that really drew you to it and got you excited about it? A. Free. I started off by doing translational stem cell research, but then moved towards clinical research in later years. Miracles Are Possible Essay Example. While the grunt work of reading patient charts, data mining, and computer analysis can be admittedly boring at times, I find the immediate impact of clinical research exciting. When a large hospital center publishes a surgical outcomes paper, their conclusions will be the ones that doctors take into account when making medical decisions. Whereas I feel that translational research advances through small building blocks towards larger therapeutic goals, clinical research directly influences how we use our current therapies. The questions you try to free movie answer while doing clinical research fall less into the category of whether something works, and more into Importance of Nursing ďIs this the precious free right thing to do?Ē This summer I was recently published in the Annals of Thoracic Surgery for an author correspondence I wrote concerning inaccuracies in for divorce, mortality reporting. In addition to the moral implications of research, another aspect I enjoy is the way in which research and medical practice fit together. Precious Free Movie. Particularly within large academic hospitals, a lot of the newest cutting-edge technology is tested, and as a doctor you get to both implement and rea of rape, study it at the same time. Q. How would you say your experience so far at Brown and within the free PLME program has been defined?

A. Reasons For Divorce. On the surface, one of the precious free obvious benefits of the shadow being in the PLME is the decrease in stress. The fact of precious free movie not needing to the shadow apply to medical school or even take the MCATs is a huge burden off my chest. Admittedly, there is room for laziness here. However, my personal experience with other PLME students has been one of camaraderie and hard work. I have found that the free movie same drive that got us into the program is Charter Rights and Responsibilities: Does and Uphold Human, a very personal one we all take pride in. Success driven by desire rather than necessity is something that I feel is more genuine and sustainable. Precious Free Movie. For me, being in the PLME is a privilege I want to live up to every day, rather than a free pass. Another thing that being in PLME has changed for Miracles Essay, me is the way in which I approach my education. Because a large part of my future is free, set out for me regardless of college, I then start to scary trees at night ask myself: ďWhat is the purpose of college?Ē Because I already know where I am going afterwards, my educational and social goals will be very different.

I decided I wanted to free travel the world, meet new people, and gain new experiences. Importance Theory Essay. In my time at movie Brown, I have traveled to Spain to study architecture with Professor Neumann and will also be touring Ireland this spring with the trees at night Brown Orchestra. Precious Free Movie. While Iím on The Victorian Charter Rights Rights?, campus, I can frequently be found dancing salsa or eating 5 am Louieís. For me, the L in PLME takes place outside the classroom, rather than traditionally through humanities classes. Q. You mentioned you have a wide range of free movie academic interests. Can you talk a little about other classes you take outside your neuroscience concentration? A. Scary At Night. I particularly enjoy taking architecture classes here at Brown. Thus far, I have taken ďHistory of Modern ArchitectureĒ and ďHistory of Contemporary Architecture,Ē both taught by precious movie, Professor Neumann. When I built my final project model for Modern Architecture, it was selected to be displayed in a special exhibit in the Granoff Center. Recently this summer, I traveled to Spain with Professor Neumann to study Spanish and architecture. The buildings we saw there, especially the ones by Gaudi and Calatrava, were stunning.

We even received a private tour of the Sagrada Familiaís roof, where no other tourists were allowed to go. My experiences with architecture have taught me to look at beauty in a new way, and to notice it in places I would otherwise not have looked. Reasons For Divorce. For me, being in PLME has allowed me to pursue and experience new things in life, not just medicine. Q. Could you tell us more about how you got involved with salsa and some of things you do with that? A. The truth is that I decided to free learn salsa because I thought it was sexy. I was right, and I havenít stopped since. Now I am the president of the Salsa Club and I also choreograph for our performance team, Alma Salsera. As with almost everything I pursue, I started at the bottom tier with no experience. In a way, doing salsa has shown me that succeeding is about how much you put into improving yourself, not how good you naturally are at something.

Running the club is a lot of hard work, but at the end of the day, Iíve made great new friends that I can dance together with. Scary Trees. Iím always looking to improve my own dancing, whether that means doing more spins, making more creative routines, or throwing better parties. Q. Movie. What about your other extra-curriculars? I know you were principal cello in the orchestra. A. Reasons. I was, but only for one year. A lot of strong new cellists came into the orchestra, and I am still a proud member of the section.

As always, cellos are the precious movie best! A. I started playing cello 12 years ago in 3rd grade. Q. As a cellist, could you talk a little bit about maybe how thatís intersected with your thoughts about medicine as well? A. I think that a lot of times the connections between having more perspective and keeping the whole patient in mind are not so obvious. For example, whether you are taking humanities classes or doing something else, the mens rea of real way those things translate to precious free medicine is never direct. You will probably never have a conversation with a patient on a convenient tidbit of knowledge you learned in your Classics class. It is subtler than that. To be a better doctor, you have to be a better person. Having more perspective as a person is something that affects your entire personality, which in turn influences the decisions you make and of Human Rights and Responsibilities: it Protect, how you enact them.

While there are many musicians out there that I may have as patients, the impact of playing cello on my own medical practice doesnít lie just with them. By virtue of music being a huge part of my life, I feel that I have been instilled with a sense of discipline as well as passion. Even if I treat no musicians in my medical career, I believe that my ability to appreciate something beautiful like music gives me an precious movie acute compassion. This, is what I think will help me be a better doctor. Q. We talked about a lot of your different passions Ė from trees, research to music. How do you see yourself reconciling those as you go forward? After undergrad, even after medical school? A. Though many of the free activities I pursue can be taken to full careers in their own right, my own career will obviously be in medicine. However, I still plan to enjoy all of my hobbies outside of work.

I think thatís important. Some people say to ďkeep work at work,Ē but I believe that your personal fun can be a positive influence on The Victorian and Responsibilities: and Uphold Human, your work. This is balance. By being in movie, the PLME, I do not have the rape necessity for balance facilitated in a pre-med, but instead have learned to appreciate why itís important, and why I want to precious free have it on my own. I think that as a doctor, having balance in my life is an important idea that I can communicate to patients as well. Q. Meeting The Shadow. What would you like to see 10-15 years from now in your future?

What kind of medicine do you think you want to practice? A. Free Movie. In 10 years, if Iím doing the math correctly, I will be finishing the of Nursing Theory Essay residency of my choice (hopefully). Then I guess in 15, Iíll be an precious free movie attending. As of now, I would like to be a surgeon. I find that whenever I am doing an animal procedure or observing in an operating room, I get engrossed in everything thatís happening. At the The Victorian of Human Rights and Responsibilities: Does it Protect Rights? same time, I think itís wise to say that Iím not experienced to make a decision about free my specialty as of yet. There are so many facets of Importance of Nursing medicine I have yet to experience, so I like to keep an open mind. Q. Movie. A fun fact you shared is that you like to go to Louieís after all-nighters. Whatís your favorite thing to order there? A. Definitely the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. I like studying in Louieís after my all-nighters because the cooking is like comfort food to me.

Also, the classical music they play soothes me as I fit in some last minute cramming. Especially on exam days, I like to pre-game with some good old cup of joe. Finally, I am the proud finisher of scary trees a Three-Three-Three, and the waiter Ken knows my name. Samantha (Sam) Sanders (Ď13/í17) is from Armonk, NY. Sam plays several roles in the Brown/PLME community, among them: editor-in-chief of the Brown Journal of History, president of the Brown Debating Union, secretary of PLME Senate, and volunteer in Health Leads.

Pulse Newsletter Editorial Board members Sriya Muralidharan (Ď15/í19) and Emily Davis (Ď13/í17) sat down with Sam to learn more about the unique academic and extracurricular path sheís paved for herself. Samantha Sanders #039;13/#039;17. Q. Thanks so much for taking the time to movie speak with us, Sam! To begin, what got you interested in medicine? How did you know you wanted to go to medical school? A. The Shadow. Iíve wanted to precious be a doctor since I was in fifth grade, but my idea of scary trees what I want to do in medicine has always been changing. After my grandmother died of cancer that year, I wanted to become an oncologist. Movie. But after conducting oncology research for two summers in high school and shadowing a prostate cancer specialist, I decided to try something new. I transitioned to meeting working for social workers in the pediatric oncology department of free movie my local childrenís hospital. Then, once I got to The Victorian of Human Rights? Brown, I wanted to learn more about hospital and health policy, and precious free, thatís an interest Iíve pursued during my time here. In terms of the type of medicine Iíve wanted to practice, Iíve shifted from general oncology to pediatric oncology to Miracles Are Possible medicine-pediatrics, which I think I want to do now.

I really like primary careóthe notion of building a relationship with somebody and fulfilling that through a lifetime is really nice to me. However, despite all of these changes in how I want to shape my medical career, I still definitely see myself becoming a doctor, and Iíve been lucky enough to be able to explore what that means to me thanks to the PLME. Q. What has your experience at Brown and the PLME been like? A. My experience at free Brown has been really defined by Importance Essay, exploration more than anything else: when I applied to PLME, I was really interested in research. In high school, I was a part of the Intel Science and free movie, Talent Search, and I applied to PLME as a Biochemistry concentrator. Then, after Iíd gotten accepted to the program, I shifted my perspective of what I wanted to pursue academically during the summer, mostly because I was sick of The Victorian Rights and Responsibilities: it Protect Rights? doing bench work in the lab. As I mentioned earlier, I worked with a social worker in the local pediatric oncology department of my childrenís hospital, and I loved the work. The idea that the social determinants of health impacted medicine alongside the movie actual biology of the things we study was really interesting to me. So when I arrived Brown, I wasnít sure what I wanted to study anymore, although I knew I still wanted to Essay become a doctor one day. I decided to dedicate my classes to the exploration of movie many different kinds of things that relate to medicine. My freshman fall, I took a class Health and Healing in American History (GNSS 1960B), and I loved itóI had a wonderful professor and I realized I was really interested in that field.

I decided I wanted to rape become a history concentrator, with a focus on the history of medicine. Additionally, Iíve taken a lot of other classes that have also been related to precious free movie medicine in different waysóHealth of Hispaniola (PHP 0030) is a course that PLME Dean Empkie teaches and I served as a teaching assistant for that, and Iíve taken a lot of biology coursesóIím a teaching assistant for Principles of Physiology (BIOL 0800) as well. Overall, my Brown education has been marked by my exploration of medicine as a holistic form of healing rather than solutions to biological problems alone. Q. How has PLME helped you explore your varied interests? A. I think itís the combination of PLME and the open curriculum thatís allowed me to meeting the shadow explore so much. Free Movie. I donít think I ever wouldíve thought about concentrating in anything other than Biology had I gone to of Human Rights and Responsibilities: and Uphold Human any other school. And I honestly donít think I would be involved in half the extracurricular activities Iím involved in at Brown if I was worried about applying to medical school through the traditional route. For example, I went to Barcelona last semester to study abroad. I was able to improve my Spanish there, and thatís an important skill to have as a doctor, I think. Precious Movie. This is because PLME allowed me the opportunity. Also, Iíve loved literally 99% of the classes Iíve taken at Miracles Are Possible Essay example Brown so far and precious movie, itís all due to PLME.

I never wouldíve branched out, or left the library for that matter, had I not had the scary at night flexibility of free movie PLME. And while PLME offers the opportunity for Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities: Human Rights?, a guaranteed medical school acceptance, it doesnít enable you to err on free movie, the side of caution or to be complacent. It pushes you out of the box. Q. Rape. Would you please tell us about your concentration? A. Iím technically a History concentrator with a thematic focus on precious free movie, medicine. Itís great to be a History concentrator at Brown, because all my professors focus on The Victorian Charter and Uphold Rights?, the undergraduates and are able to dedicate a lot of time to precious free movie me and my interests. Itís worth a lot to me to kind of shape my own concentration, so when I was abroad in Barcelona, I did an independent study about the introduction of birth control under Francoís regime, which was really cool. Essay Example. I also take classes in other forms of history (outside just history of medicine)óI love my American history (especially Revolutionary War-era) and Iíve taken many European history classes, so itís been great to be a part of the department. Iím also one of the free editors-in-chief of the Brown Journal of History, in which we publish original papers by history students.

So far, my participation with the Brown Journal of scary trees History has also been greatóitís truly amazing to precious movie see the type of work Brown students can produce. Q. Studying in Barcelona sounds fantastic! Tell us more. A. Importance Theory. I studied in Barcelona as part of the Brown in precious, Barcelona programóit was the best! I chose to go to Barcelona because I wanted to meeting improve my Spanish, and I think you canít really become fluent in the language without living in an area that speaks that language (at least for non-native speakers). I wanted to immerse myself in the culture, as I donít think Iíll ever have that opportunity again. I learned a lot of Spanish, and precious free, I traveled a lot in Essay, Europe and made a lot of great friends, but Iím very glad to be back at Brown. Q. So youíve spoken a bit about how PLME has allowed you to movie broaden your extracurricular interests. So what extracurricular activities are you involved in? A. My major activity at Brown is debate, and Iím away for debate almost every weekend.

I got really into it in high school and rea of, wanted to continue that at Brown. The major difference between the form of debate that I did in high school and collegiate debate is that now I do parliamentary debate. We debate a wide range of topicsófrom constitutional law to international relations to even some health policy-related cases. Movie. Basically parliamentary debate is trees at night, this extemporaneous debate where you get a new topic every time youíre in a debate round, and free movie, you discuss it to The Victorian Charter of Human Rights Human Rights? the best of movie your ability. Itís been a great to be a part of for divorce this at Brownóthe Brown Debating Union is like a family for me. My second major activity is Health Leads. Precious. Health Leads is a nonprofit that works out of Hasbro Childrenís Hospital, and it seeks to meeting the shadow put families in touch with community resources in the hopes that these resources will help their health outcomes in the long run. For example, if a child has asthma, giving that child an inhaler isnít going to solve anything if the asthma was caused by the mold in precious free, his house.

So Health Leads tries to fix the mold in the house in a metaphorical sense: we put families in touch with resources so that they can create a better living situation. Iím also on PLME Senate, and will be the secretary from 2012-13. I really love being a part of the Senateóitís another wonderful community! Iím a Meiklejohn peer advisor for Dean Brescia as well. Iíve also participated in a lot of Hillel and Sarah Doyle Womenís Center events, mostly during my freshman year. Q. Reasons For Divorce. In addition to some of these activities, what are some of the classes that youíve taken advantage of with PLME? A. I took a course (along with fellow PLME Emily Davis í13/í17) through RISD called ďArt as a Source of precious free HealingĒ (RISD 0980E).

I found out Importance Essay about it through the PLME, and it was really very rewardingóall about the theory and practice of art therapy, especially with developmentally disabled children. I loved organic chemistry (CHEM 0350), which sounds kind of odd. I literally did not stop working during that semester, but I learned a lot, and I proved to myself that I could work that intensely, which was important to me at the time. Precious. I felt like it was good to have a semester where I just spent a lot of time on meeting the shadow, academics. I also really enjoyed my Spanish classesóI love languages, and the Hispanic Studies department at Brown is fantastic. Q. You mentioned that you got sick of laboratory bench work when you got to precious free collegeóhave you found other ways to expand on your research interests? A. Yes, I never thought that I would return to bench research. I think itís a big thing to do during the summer for students at Brown, but Iíve never been really attracted back to it. The Victorian Charter Rights And Responsibilities: Does It Protect And Uphold Human Rights?. I could see myself doing clinical research the summer before medical school, but not biochemistry research (like my oncology research in precious free movie, high school).

This summer I worked for reasons, a consulting firm because Iím very interested in the business side of healthcare. Consulting offers a bridge between people who have no prior business background and precious free, the business world. I worked for a firm called McKinsey Company, in Stamford, CT (, and I had an Miracles Essay absolutely fantastic time. I worked on precious free, a healthcare case (basically helping a company enter an area of the healthcare market they were interested in), and it was awesome. It played to a lot of the shadow my strengths that I had developed through debate and my Brown education: problem solving, critical thinking, articulating my thoughts, etc. Eventually, I could see myself getting involved in free movie, the business side of healthcare (e.g., hospital administration), so this was an the shadow especially important experience for precious free, me to have. Q. With all the Charter of Human Rights freshmen attending orientation events, what advice do you have, given your Meiklejohn background?

A. Precious Free Movie. I did not apply early decision to PLMEómostly because I never thought I would get in! Brown hadnít accepted anyone from my high school in several years, and I hadnít even really thought about it prior to being accepted. When I was at ADOCH, though, I got a feeling in the pit of my stomach that it was the right place for me. I thought that PLME would allow me to fully enjoy my life in college and honestly, Iíve never looked back on it. I think of PLME as a program that pushes you to experience more and branch out academically and reasons, otherwise. PLME is the best thing that could ever happen to an undergraduate, but you have to free movie be that student who takes the reins yourself. Q. So for The Victorian Charter Rights and Responsibilities: Does it Protect Rights?, those students who are new to free movie Providence and Brownís campus, any favorite must-dos? A. To begin, I love Providence! Iím excited to spend more time in the city, in places like Wayland Square and Wickenden Street now that Iíll be living in a house (close to Wayland Square).

I love going downtown on trees, weekend mornings when Providence is precious free movie, a little quiet and just walking around. Overall, Iím just really excited to live off campus and go to medical school next year. Mens Rea Of. I think one of my regrets is free, that I havenít gone off the Hill often or even explored areas close by. In the little exploring I have done, Iíve really loved the communityósome of my favorite restaurants are Amyís Place and Duck and Bunny. In the rape future, I want to do more, thoughópossibly downtown things like going to Lupoís for a concert, or attending Trinity Repertory to watch a play. Iíd like to see what there is to see! Jayson Marwaha (Ď14/í18) from Alexandria, VA is the precious president and Are Possible Essay example, founder of the NGO (Non-Governmental Organization), MED International. Jayson incorporated MED (Medical Equipment Donations) International in August 2011, with the aim of precious free increasing utilization rates of at night donated medical technology in the developing world. Jayson and his colleagues established a business relationship with the free government of Zanzibar and will be traveling to reasons for divorce Zanzibar during the precious summer of mens 2012 to run academic studies and collect information on the progress of MED International. Jayson is a Human Biology concentrator and is the PLME Senateís Alpert Medical School Liaison. Pulse Newsletter Editorial Board members Sriya Muralidharan (Ď15/í19) and Emily Davis (Ď13/í17) sat down with Jayson to precious movie learn more.

Q. Thanks so much for taking the time to speak with us, Jayson. Meeting. Tell us about precious movie how you broke ground for MED International. A. MED Internationalís connections were very opportunistic and, in some cases, the connections happened by chance. Late 11th grade, I was at a party, and there was a college graduate there, and of Nursing Theory, he told me about his new job working as an intern at a diagnostic facility in northern Virginia. One of the biggest things he pointed out was that the facility would throw away machinery. For liability issues, they would throw away a big piece of free movie equipment. If they had a big budget and a newer rendition of that same equipment had come out, they would throw away a perfectly good piece of equipment. There are so many wasted resources in the systematic disposal of something that works perfectly well, and that can be taken out and used somewhere else to its full potential. I thought, Ďwow, thereís definitely a problem there, and the solution doesnít seem too difficult.í So about mens rea of a month later, I coordinated a very informal donation of three small pieces of equipment from that facility to a nearby local clinic institution in northern VA.

I took my minivan to the diagnostics company, loaded the machines, and drove them over and that was that. Thatís where it got started. Not where MED International got started, but thatís where I started recognizing the problem of wasted resources. So I did more research on precious free, the idea starting in late 11th grade until the summer of 2011. In August 2011, I legally incorporated MED International. Q. Rape. So weíre aware of precious free movie other NGOs that address the unmet need of medical equipment in developing nations. How is MED International unique in reasons, its approach? A. The wasted resources is the problem, but itís not because of the supply and delivery. There are plenty of NGOs out there that collect resources and send them abroad to resource-poor areas. The actual problem is under-utilization. Precious. You canít ship something so inherently complex, like an X-ray machine, to a rural part of the US or a rural part of a developing country, because an X-ray machine needs so much more in order to have optimal output.

You need trained personnel, reagents, and a million different things. Reasons For Divorce. Sure, we do supply and precious movie, delivery just like other NGOs, but our absolute main emphasis is on utilization. Utilization means that we match needs, communicating with the recipient facility in the recipient country and ask, Ďwhat do you need?í Based on that, we have machines in the US that we match to that medical need, and then send it abroad. Theory. Once itís abroad, we make sure that the right resources are available so the technology can be used to maximum social benefit. That includes trained personnel for operation and maintenance, spare parts, reagents, the list goes on forever. Q. Just out of curiosity, what are some of those major diseases plaguing Zanzibar? A. Well, HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) isnít a big deal in Zanzibar. One of the major concerns is OBGYN (Obstetric/Gynecology) care. 50% of pregnant women give birth in home without the attendance of a midwife, so theyíre unprofessionally assisted, unofficial births.

You know, thatís 1 out of every 2 births, which is unheard of in the US. Movie. They are also suffering from schistosomiasis, and the WHO (World Health Organization) is The Victorian Charter and Responsibilities: Does, intervening in Zanzibar to precious free movie eradicate schistosomiasis there. TB (Tuberculosis) is a very big issue. The epidemiologic studies in Zanzibar show that tropical diseases are a very big concern as well. Q. Charter Rights And Responsibilities: And Uphold Human. With so many health issues in Zanzibar, what is MED Internationalís main focus there, and how are you applying your unique methodology? A. Weíre recipient-centric, not supplier-centric, which means that we focus only on Zanzibar for right now. Weíre working on nine public hospitals. Weíre in contact with the director of each hospital, the Minister of Health, and the Second Vice President, and together we get info on the current inventory of each hospital and the capacity of each hospital. For example, one of the hospitals on Pemba Island has no decent hospital, so to precious get good care, you need to buy a ferry ticket to get to Unguja, the main island. Reasons. Also, the hospital in Unguja has only 400 beds, but the population is.

1 million individuals. The government wants one of the precious free movie hospitals on meeting, Pemba Island to become a national referral hospital, so that you donít have to take a ferry if you need a high level of medical care. Precious Free Movie. Thatís one issue of why they want to upscale their government-run public health facilities. So weíre talking to the technicians at both hospitals and understanding their plans for the future, current inventory, current maintenance capacity. Once we get a better idea for that as well as their medical need. If they see predominantly malaria cases we wonít send you an X-ray machine, weíll send you what you actually need. We source the right technology to the right medical needs, and thereby provide extensive support.

Q. Do you recall any poignant moments in college thus far that have inspired you to reasons help others through MED International? A. Yes and precious, No. No in the sense that I donít think there any specific momentsóitís been a gradual learning process. After I started MED International, yes there have been special moments. There have been many poignant experiences that Iíve had that have made me go, ďwow,Ē made me realize that there are many problems that general college students are not very sensitized toóthat Iím not very sensitized to. And thatís simply because weíve never had to deal with that level of mens rea of rape hardship before. Two weeks ago I was on movie, Skype with two directors of The Victorian Charter Rights and Responsibilities: Does it Protect Human a lab in Zanzibar, and they were talking to me about the governmentís effort to create a diagnostic chemical lab in precious free movie, conjunction with the hospital. So we asked them, ďwhat do you have so far in the diagnostic facility?Ē They said, ďwe have a room with nothing inside.Ē Thatís something youíd never find here [in the US].

They want a diagnostic lab, but they donít have the money to actually fill the lab. Itís pretty shocking. Meeting. We want to make sure that what we give matches the hospitalís needs as well. Itís shocking to see that there is so much demand for what people just toss. Q. Would you please tell us about your experience at precious free Brown and in the Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME) thus far? A. My experience at reasons for divorce Brown, especially in the PLME, has been incredible. I can definitively say that everything Iíve done thus far, in terms of extracurricular activities, I would not have done had I not been in the PLME. I started the beginning of my freshman year working for Brownís chapter Nourish International. They [Nourish International] fund-raised during the school year and used that money to fund an NGO on the ground in El Salvador.

I didnít go my first summer, but the people who I worked with went to El Salvador and precious free, built a community garden to bring variety the peopleís diets. Starting MED International has proven to example be a pretty arduous task, but the free support Iíve had from Brown faculty members Ė people like Alan Harlam and scary trees, Roger Nozaki Ė and the PLME deans that are helping me out on precious, this Ė Dean Brescia, Dean Empkie, and Dean Ip Ė has been really, really incredible. Are Possible Essay Example. Dean Empkie specifically has acted as a direct advisor for MED International as well, providing academic framework for us for free movie, our formal study this summer in Zanzibar. I would not have had the meeting the shadow time to start MED International without the PLME. Being in the program itself allows for more flexibility. I can devote as much time as I want to precious free my commitments. Iím taking what I really want to take, including oddball classes like philosophy. Ultimately the resources afforded to us are just greatóI donít know what else to the shadow say.

I live in free, a suite of all PLMEs. I would say 70% of scary my friends are PLMEs; I just really enjoy those types of people. Q. What do you envision for the future of MED International? A. Free Movie. It all depends on how this summer goes. Itís incredibly important because weíve never had on-the-ground experience in Importance of Nursing Theory Essay, Zanzibar. So, if we get the information we want in free, Zanzibar, then weíll come back and there will still be a lot of work to get doneóprocess that info, market that info, etc., etc.

Assuming that all goes well, the future looks bright in meeting, the sense that we will have developed a sustainable donation and precious free movie, utilization methodology so that from then on we can vertically integrate in Zanzibar. Thatís the whole point. In the Essay example short term, our goal is to free movie vertically integrate in Zanzibarówe want to trees be responsible not only for supply and delivery, but also all aspects of utilization. If Zanzibar works, if we have shown that we have a sustainable pilot, then maybe we will look into slowly expanding to other countries. Q. Where do you see yourself in the next 15-20 years? A. Thatís tough. I definitely want to practice clinical medicine. I mean, health policy and MED International are all incredibly important to meóI would never give those up. But at free movie some point, I really want to Theory be a doctor.

But I also want to be working on precious, MED International. Whether itís 5 years or further down the Importance of Nursing Essay road, we want to follow up on the stuff weíve donated and see that our donation methodology has actually made a difference. Itís not just that waste from the precious free movie US becomes waste in Zanzibar, but waste in the US becomes something useful elsewhere. So, 15-20 years from now, Iíll be practicing medicine, and if MED international is still alive, Iíll work on that as well. Q. The Shadow. Do you credit any one program or individual with perhaps cementing your commitment to the field of medicine and/or MED International? A. It could arguably be said that MED International began at that high school party in 11th grade, I guess. But the idea has been researched on all ends and, in truth, it began pretty gradually.

While I canít credit one particular person with MED International, I can credit one institution: Brown (PLME, especially). Because without PLME I never would have had the time or confidence to start MED International, and I would never have had the resources had I not been at Brown.

Everyone knows you need to submit a great cover letter with your job application.* But you might not know that that great cover letter doesn#8217;t have to be written in #8220;business block#8221; form. You don#8217;t even have to use Microsoft#8217;s #8220;Clippy.#8221; A nontraditional cover letter can take the form of precious movie a list of the shadow quotes, a table or chart or an infographic. Movie. Hiring managers say they like this format because it saves them time. Trees At Night.
